French Toast (Picky Kid Approved)

Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk (whole or 2% work best)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (or whatever your heart feels!)
  • Sliced bread (brioche is typically best)
  • Butter
  • Syrup (or any preferred topping)

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon until well mixed.  Set to the side.
  2. In a large pan, melt a bit of butter over medium heat, enough to cover the bottom of the pan and get it warm.  While this is heating, take a few slices of bread and dip them into your egg mixture, making sure each side is coated and the bread is slightly soggy.  Place the slices in the pan, and cook for a couple of minutes on each side, until they are a nice golden brown color.
  3. Remove the cooked slices from the pan and place on a covered dish to keep warm.  Continue the process with the remaining bread slices and egg mixture; use more butter in bottom of pan if needed.
  4.  Serve warm with syrup/toppings, and enjoy!
