Ingredients
- 4 cups chicken broth
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- Kosher salt
- Fresh black pepper
- 1 ½ tsp minced garlic
Directions
- Add the following to a pot, stir with a whisk, and bring to a boil over medium high heat:
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 0.75 cup heavy cream
- Kosher salt
- Fresh black pepper
- 1.5 tsp minced garlic
- Once a rolling boil has been achieved, whisk in 1.25 cup Quaker Oats Old Fashioned grits (come in the cylindrical container).
- Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for about five minutes.
- Whisk in in 4T of unsalted butter, cover.
- Simmer for five more minutes.
- Whisk in an eight-ounce block of shredded smoked gouda cheese; cover.
- Remove from heat. Let stand for five minutes.
